

Edwin Michael Herman, Age 89, passed away from heart failure during treatment of Dialysis on August 12, 2020. The professionals at DaVita have expressed their grief stating how fond they were of Edwin and thought of him as family.
Edwin was born in Bronson Michigan to Regina and Bernard Herman. After the death of his father, he moved to River Rouge, MI where he attended Catholic School at Our Lady of Lords, Here he was active in sports playing football, baseball, and basketball. He is a military veteran that served with the US Army during the Korean War.
In 1952 Edwin married his sweetheart Bonnie Jean Corson. November of 2019 Bonnie and Ed celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary.
He is survived by his devoted wife Bonnie and their seven children: Cate, Brenda, Kay, Sandra, Nancy, Robert, and Judy. He was blessed with 11 Grandchildren. (Shawn, sadly passed away), Surviving grandchildren; Jessica, Sara, Edwin, Nicole, Forest, Kevin, Bill, Bob, Dana, and John. In addition, four great grandchildren.
Edwin and Bonnie made their home in the suburbs of Detroit where he worked on the docks as a truck inspector for the auto industries. Edwin’s biggest joy was his family; he spent much of his time on family outings and vacations at their cabin on Lake George in West Branch Mi.
In addition he loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, boating, his most cherished hunting buddies was his older brother Ralph, and his nephew young Ralph with whom he has always remained close.
Edwin’s was a devoted Catholic where he faithfully attended mass each Sunday.
His biggest accomplishments would be his never-ending devotion to his wife and children. His legacy lives in their hearts and those he has touched.
A Funeral Mass will be held at Saint Andrews Catholic Chapel. Friday August 21, 2020 at 1:00 PM. 2628 Del Prado Blvd S. Cape Coral, FL 33904.
