David was born on December 1, 1962 to David and Martha Prahl of Stow, Ohio.
David went into the Air Force initially but transitioned to the U.S. Marine Corps soon after knowing where his true path was.
Throughout his life, he worked predominately as a Facility Maintenance Supervisor at Viking Forge in Streetsboro, Ohio, before coming back to Cornerstone Kitchens in Fort Myers, Florida. He was a welder, machinist, programmer, electrician, truck driver, and even a repo-man by trade. David was nicknamed “MacGyver” due to his vast knowledge and skillset -- there was nothing he could not fix.
David was a motorcycle enthusiast through and through; he loved riding on long trips with his wife. He loved fishing with his dad and his boys. He also enjoyed cooking anything on a grill and watching Saturday morning cartoons.
David’s personality and laugh were contagious. He put everyone at ease whether you knew him for 5 minutes or 50 years. Most importantly, he was and will forever be an unconditionally devoted family man, husband, and father.
He is preceded in death by his son, Kyle, and his parents, David and Martha.
David is survived by his wonderful wife, Lois, of almost 20 years; children Tim, Marcus, Aaron (Rachel); siblings Charles, Debora (William), and Phillip; nieces and nephews Tara, Candice, Charles, Michael (Megan), Jennifer, Erica (Kevin), and Nicholas; grandchildren Allyssa and Ryder, Kaylee, and Skye. And countless other special friends and family.
David’s family would like to thank the Health Park ER staff, Cody and Martina, and Gulf Coast 3 North ICU nurses Kara, Tara, and Jessica for their kindness and exceptional care of David and his family.
A viewing for David will be held Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at National Cremation & Burial Society, 3453 Hancock Bridge Pkwy, North Fort Myers, FL 33903.
