Courtland Bradford Alfs

Court was born in Indianapolis, IN. He graduated from Arlington High School in 1978.

He attended Purdue University in 1979 and transferred to IUPUI / Herron Art School the following year where he made many friends.

Court spent the last 20 years running his own business called His Work Remodeling and met many wonderful people who became his friends through it.

He attended Lakeview Church and The Blended Church both in Indianapolis, IN. He volunteered for Discipleship Walks and opportunities for men to be part of a godly community. He was passionate about worshiping through music, playing the guitar, singing and writing his own lyrics and music. He believed in Heaven, eternity and Jesus’ Resurrection.

He enjoyed many hobbies including keeping saltwater aquariums, motorcycles and generally just tinkering, designing and creating whatever he had dreamt up that day.

Court was a special person. He had such a magnetic quality about him. When people met him they either fell in love with him or not. There wasn’t anything else. When he was in the room, he made you feel like you were the most important person in the world at that moment. He was a character and loved a good practical joke – more often than not, he would be the person pulling off the prank.

He was diagnosed with metastatic cancer in June 2022. He decided right then, to live the rest of his earthly life to the fullest with love and activity. He did that exceedingly well and he will be terribly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert & Emogene Alfs.

He is survived by his wife of almost 25 years, Camille (Avon, IN). His children Taylor Alfs (Avon, IN); Isaiah Alfs (Avon, IN – wife is Trisha); Sarah Hutchens (Plainfield, IN - husband is Nathan); Austin Davis (Columbus, IN) & Zachary Alfs (Carmel, IN – wife is Emily). Four grandchildren, Waylyn, Evie, Natanya & a soon to be.

His siblings: Gretchen Clark (husband Mike Guerra, Indianapolis, IN) & Todd Alfs (wife Kristen Alfs, Ingalls, IN).

And many other family members and friends.

The Celebration of Life / Memorial Service will be held at: Journey Church Avon, IN on March 23, 2024 Family & friends are welcome to share fond memories between 2-3:30 p.m. Service is 3:30-4:30 p.m. He will be interred at West Ridge Cemetery in a columbarium at a later date.
