Catherine Hughes

Catherine "Kitty" Hughes (née Wilson), born on December 21, 1933, in Liverpool, England, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2026, at Hospice house in Fort Myers, Florida embraced by her loving daughters. She was 92 years old.

Kitty was a devoted Catholic, finding strength and joy in her faith. Her unwavering devotion to her beliefs was a cornerstone of her life and a source of inspiration to those who knew her.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Derek Hughes, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and partnership. Together they raised three daughters Lynn, Donna, and Lori—who were the pride and joy of their lives. Kitty’s family remembers her as "little but mighty," a woman whose presence left an indelible mark wherever she went.

One of Kitty’s greatest passions was dancing. Whether it was a lively tune or a slow waltz, she found immense happiness on the dance floor. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with Derek, dancing together once more in heaven.

A private Funeral Mass will be held by the family.
