Carolyn Sue (Presley) Copley, 80, of North Fort Myers, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on June 21, 2026 — just three days after celebrating her 80th birthday. Born June 18, 1946, in Lovely, Kentucky, she was one of eight children born to the late Wilma and Hubert Presley.
In 1965, Carolyn married the love of her life, John R. Copley Jr., and the two built a beautiful life together, settling in Saline, Michigan, where Carolyn spent many fulfilling years as an employee of the University of Michigan. After retirement, she and John followed the sunshine south to North Fort Myers, Florida, where they could do what they loved most — play golf.
Carolyn and John were passionate and accomplished golfers, spending as many hours on the course as the day would allow. Over the years, the two celebrated numerous tournament wins and several holes-in-one between them — a testament to their dedication and shared joy in the game. John preceded her in death, but their love for the sport and for each other remains a cherished part of her story.
Beyond the fairways, Carolyn’s greatest happiness came from the people around her. She had a nurturing spirit, a kind and compassionate heart, and a gift for making everyone she loved feel truly cherished. She delighted in time spent with friends and family, and her granddaughter and great-grandchildren held an especially tender place in her heart.
She is survived by her daughter, Benita (Tim); granddaughter, Sarah; great-grandchildren, Ella and Myles; and siblings Betty (Ronnie) Harris, Bonnie (Eddie) Daniels, and Jimmy (Cathy) Presley.
She is reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, John; her parents, Wilma and Hubert Presley; and her siblings Patty Marcum, Mary Preece, Hubert Presley Jr., and Richard Presley.
Carolyn will be deeply missed by all who knew her — her warmth, her laughter on the golf course, and her loving presence leave a lasting impression on every heart she touched.
