Albert Bryant Scarborough, 86, of Biloxi, Mississippi, passed away surrounded by those who loved him. He began his life on the Gulf Coast, and although his career and ambitions carried him to many places over the years, the Gulf Coast remained his anchor. After a lifetime of travel, work, and adventure, he returned to the place where it all started and spent his final years back on the shores he loved most.
Albert served as the president of Rockwell Construction, a company he guided with grit, craftsmanship, and an unwavering commitment to doing things the right way. His career took him across states and cities as he pursued new opportunities, new projects, and the chance to build something lasting. Each move reflected his drive, his curiosity, and his willingness to chase the next chapter with confidence.
Fishing wasn’t just a hobby for Albert; it was his heartbeat. He traveled far and wide in pursuit of the next great catch, from familiar Gulf waters to destinations that fed his sense of adventure. His passion for the sport ran so deep that he earned his “6 pack” captain’s license, a testament to both his skill on the water and the joy he found in sharing those experiences with others.
One of his notable accomplishments was being part of the group that founded the Watermelon Open Fishing Tournament, launched out of his home marina, Bridge Harbor. What began as a shared passion among friends grew into a beloved tradition, and Albert’s spirit remains woven into its history.
Albert is survived by his children: Bryant and his wife Trish; Tom and his wife Wendy; Mark and his wife Julie; and Robin Halek and her husband Andy. He was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren and a great grandfather to two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, and his wife of 66 years, Bobbie Ann, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, partnership, and devotion.
Albert’s life was rich with purpose, friendship, and the joy of doing what he loved. His legacy lives on in the waters he fished, the structures he built, and the countless memories he leaves behind.
A celebration of his life will take place at his home in Woolmarket, Mississippi, on June 20th, 2026, at 1:00 p.m.
His life was a testament to hard work, adventure, and the quiet joy of a day on the water.
