Jim was born on June 8, 1944 in Chicago, and grew up in West Beverly. He was raised in St. John Fisher Parish. Jim was a Reservist with the U.S. Marine Corps for six years and a dedicated employee of IBM for over 35 years. He was an accomplished golfer and was actively involved at Ridge Country Club. Jim was also an avid gardener, and enjoyed spoiling his cats, Tiger, Callie, Crede, and Coy.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda, nee Dorow; his son, James “Jay” Jr. (Hope), his granddaughter, Adelyn; his siblings: Fran (Joanell), Candy (John) McMahon, Steven (Nancy), Jerry (Karin), Billy (Mimi), Marnie (the late Andy) O’Sullivan, Jeanne (Gary) Anderson, Julia (Jim) O’Brien, and John (Lisa). He was a beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Alice Zawaski; and his daughter, Anne.
The family would like to thank Ruby Barmo for the care and compassion she showed Jim in his final days.
