

He was born February 21, 1938 in Dallas, TX and lived there until the age of nine when his family moved to Phoenix, AZ. Jim graduated from Phoenix Tech in the Drafting field and worked as a draftsman in the Pneumatics Division of AiResearch Mfg. Co. of Arizona. He retired in 1993 after 35 years, ending his career as Manager of Design Engineering, Garrett Fluid Systems Division.
Jim loved to go hunting with his son and best friend. At the age of 70 he was proud to apply for and receive the Arizona Game & Fish Pioneer Hunting and Fishing License.
He also loved riding his Honda Gold Wing, going on several trips and weekend rides. He was a member of GWRRA and Chapter D of Mesa, AZ.
Jim was a member of the Sons of The American Legion for 27 years, first joining in Payson, AZ, and transferred his membership to Elmhurst, IL.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James Clinton and Ruth Harriet, nee Donaldson and James Clinton Johnson; and his son, Bradley Warren Johnson.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Cyndi Annette Johnson, nee Wojtulewicz; his daughter, Sheela Yvonne (Dan) Tejcek of Cleveland, TX; his grandson, Christopher Adam Forler; his four younger siblings: Judith Clare Martinez of Glendale, AZ, Donna Marie (Robert) Marshak of Tempe, AZ, Fred Erskine (Megs) Johnson of Phoenix, AZ and Wesley DeForest (Dixie) Johnson of Eureka, CA; and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Hospice for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in his final days, and Fr. Jeremy Leganski of Immaculate Conception Parish, Elmhurst, IL, for performing Last Rights.
