

Frank Peter Klupshas, Jr. of Plainfield, IL passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025 at the age of 74. He was born on September 12, 1950 in Evergreen Park, IL and spent his younger years living in the city of Chicago. He moved to Oak Lawn and finally settled in Plainfield, IL.
He graduated from Saint Ignatius High School in Chicago in 1968. Demonstrating determination from an early age, Frank funded his own private school education before enlisting in the Army Reserves, where he proudly served and rose to the rank of Sergeant First Class.
Frank proudly dedicated 43 years to the Illinois Department of Transportation, retiring in 2011. His engineering expertise and cost-saving innovations left a lasting impact, with many of his contributions still in use today.
Frank enjoyed spending time in Traverse City, MI and collecting local trinkets from Michigan and Wisconsin towns.
He is survived by his beloved sons, Frank Peter III (Megan) Klupshas and Paul Matthew (Annie) Klupshas; six loving grandchildren: Anna, Brody, Lily, Lucy, Khloe and Cason; his sister, Diane (the late Mark) Manuzak; and brother, John (Joan) Klupshas; many nieces and nephews, and former spouse, Dian and her family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank Peter Klupshas and Genevieve Lenti; and his grandson, Paul Matthew Emerson Klupshas.
Frank loved to entertain and made sure that everyone had what they enjoyed. He was affectionately known as the “Grill Man” in his neighborhood. He grew up loving dogs and would often sneak food to his granddogs at family gatherings. Known for his excellent attention to detail, Frank took great pride in his work, a value reflected in the warmth and beauty of the homes he created and lived in.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 10:30am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 1501 W Boughton Road, Bolingbrook, IL 60490.
