Chris is survived by his wife, Beverly Funteas; his three daughters: Christina Funteas, Suzanne Funteas, and Diane (Dan) Cook; and his granddaughter, Emily Cook. He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Ellen (Robert) Spruit and Frances (Joe) Barrett.
For many years before retirement, Chris was the family chauffeur, driving his wife to and from work and his daughters to their various activities. Following his retirement from Centel/Sprint and painting, he also enthusiastically drove his wife to babysit their granddaughter and pick up her favorite lunch, as well as sneak treats to her dogs.
Chris will be fondly remembered for his engaging smile, enjoying dancing with his wife, playing handball and tennis with friends, taking vacations in Las Vegas with his wife, enjoying horse races at Arlington Park, watching old movies and musicals, and spending time with family and friends.
