

Andrew T. Szymaszek (83), Died on July 26, 2026, surrounded by loving family in his home. He was Born October 9, 1942, to the late Thadeus and Domenica ("Minnie" Desalvatore) Szymaszek, Andy grew up in Meriden, Connecticut, and later moved to Durham after marrying his wife. He attended H.C. Wilcox Technical High School before proudly serving his country in the U.S. Air Force 1960-1964. Following his military service, Andy dedicated 30 years to Pratt & Whitney, where he worked as an electrician.
Andy was predeceased by his loving wife Janice Grimord Szymaszek, they were married for 52 years. Andy also leaves behind his partner Dolores W. Harrison, who was by his side with a loving, warm heart to make the last year wonderful. Andy was a proud and loving father to his son, Brian A. Szymaszek and his wife, Lisa, and his daughter, Deana M. Perillo and her husband, Brian. He was an especially proud grandfather to Megan and Alyssa Szymaszek, and Dominick and Nicholas Perillo. And Great granddaughter Iris Dennington, all of whom brought him immense joy. He is also survived by his brother, Gregory P. Szymaszek. He was predeceased by his brother, James Szymaszek.
Andy enjoyed a full life with many interests such as fishing, hunting, woodcarving, farming, and traveling throughout the U.S. and Canada in their R.V. Becoming a snowbird after retirement with a home in Largo, Florida.
Andy will be remembered for his hard work, kindness, love of family, and appreciation for the simple pleasures in life. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
