Knew Tracy in high school when she moved to San Marino from Chicago. That was a tough transition for anyone and I was drawn to those gorgeous eyes and a kind of sadness that came out as sharp and clever sarcasm. 

I took her on a date to a movie - Midnight Express ( good choice, right? Obviously a Turkish prison movie about a convicted drug smuggler is not exactly mood music. I was one of four boys and didn’t have much emotional intelligence ). 

She jumped up during a graphic scene and exited the theatre. She was getting sick and after agreeing we could wait to see the rest of the film, I took her home. 

Had a crush on her forever after the ill-fated date and reconnected decades later where we shared a good laugh. She was strong and vulnerable all at the same time.  I was Impressed at the woman she had become and it was nice to compare our life journeys. She was with us in San Marino for a brief time, but we were instantly drawn to her, and she will be missed. I  have seen so many posts from a broad group of classmates who remained connected to her memory.  Hugs to friends and family.  Life doesn’t always reward tender people with a path that makes sense.
