I am sorry for your grief and loss of a dear husband, father, pastor, and a friend. “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow you all the days of your life.” Psalm 23:6

Dad loved to go for walks with Daisy for many wonderful years. Continue to enjoy those long forever walks together...

Rodney was a dedicated husband, pastor, campus minister, pastoral counselor, and Jungian theologian. He dedicated his life to serving others in his roles as a spiritual leader, husband, father and friend. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth, to whom he was devoted for almost 70 years, his sons Jeffrey, Jonathan, Andrew and Gregory, and his nine grandchildren Garrett, Thomas, Dutcher, Bower, Leighton, Erin, Wesley, Christian and Mia.
When thinking about our father, he would be pleased that we remember him as a kind and caring person. This kindness came from his deep empathy for others. Most that knew him are aware that he championed human and civil rights throughout his lifetime. His respect for others enabled him to impact people in positive ways. 
He was a devoted husband and a dedicated father.
Our father was a true renaissance man who explored his talents in painting, woodworking, music, poetry, reading, and personal enlightenment.
He liked puns and dad jokes. Some were actually funny.
He was a wonderful and genuine listener
He was passionate about all artforms, trying his hand at all of them and encouraging his children and grandchildren in their artistic pursuits
He loved his family, reading, camping, long conversations, and traveling, combining them frequently
He delighted in watching each of us as we grew up, became individuals, and found families of our own.
He moved grace-fully through life—he loved of God and Jesus’s teachings of forgiveness, but he was also willing to question and relate this to the challenges of real life and the inherent limitations of real people
He kept his sense of humor, which also carried within it deep wisdom, right up to the end
He was amazing at finding the balance between advising and letting us make our own mistakes, but then being there to help us through the learning process. This only deepened our love and respect for him, especially as we discovered how difficult this can be.
