Robert Donald Graf

A graduate of Hofstra College (later Hofstra University) at Hempstead, New York. Bob spent 34 years in the insurance and reinsurance business, retiring as a Senior Vice President of an international reinsurance company. He achieved both the Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter and Chartered Life Underwriter professional designations. His career included time spent in Buffalo, Niagara Falls, Illinois, Zurich, and New York City. He and his wife, Peg-e retired in 1991 and immediately permanently relocated to Naples, where he was active for 20 years as a fire alarm designer and consultant to electrical contractors. He also served for several years as a volunteer at St. Vincent de Paul Thrift Store, and as a member of the St. John's Church Men's Club.

Bob Had many interests, including being licensed as a private pilot, collecting WW !! pistols, and licensed as an amateur radio operator for over 60 years using callsign W23HI. Bob was active with the local amateur radio club in Naples for several years, where he served as a trustee, Secretary and Webmaster. Bob was a NRA certified competitive pistol shooter, and enjoyed shooting at shooting ranges both in his native New York and Florida. He also was an avid amateur photographer, specializing in black and white landscapes, lighthouses, and covered bridges. His prints are hung in several private collections throughout the U.S. Every year Bob self-produced a calendar for friends and acquaintances, often of lighthouse photographs, but also covered bridges, landscapes, and images of Naples and other places. A recent calendar, in 2017, was devoted to photos of all the 50 turtle sculptures that were produced and displayed throughout Collier County as part of the Turtles on the Town Community Arts Project. His latest calendar in 2022 was of images of Key West.

With his beloved wife, Peg-e, Bob was active in collecting, and participated in various collecting clubs including McDonald's, Hummels, Friar Tucks and head vases. their collecting interest took them throughout the United States to various collecting conventions where they made many friends, and sold and traded their collections. They also were avid cat breeders, and showed their exotic shorthair cats at various cat shows where their cats received championship recognitions. Bob leaves behind his soul mate and beloved wife of 42 years, Margaret (Peg-e) Keenan Graf, and four children by a former marriage, including one son Michael Graf of Maricopa, Arizona, and daughters Laura Holden of Phoenix, Arizona, Linda Graf of Stoughton, Wisconsin, and Marguerite Graf. His brother, Richard Graf, of Boston, Massachusetts, preceded him in death in 1980, as did his mother, Marguerite, in 1967, and father,, Charles, in 2003.

A memorial service is planned for St. William Catholic Church, at a date to be determined.
