Patricia Ann Murphy

Born on August 28, 1942, Patricia married Frank Leo Murphy Jr. on January 27, 1963. Together they shared 60 years of marriage until Frank’s passing on February 1, 2023.

Patricia was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Bonnie Murphy, Wendy Evegan and her husband Bill, and Frank Leo Murphy III and his wife Dawn, as well as her six grandchildren, William, Andrew, Matthew, Frank Leo Murphy IV, and twins Kylie and Sydney Murphy.

Family was an important part of Patricia’s life. She spent many years surrounded by the people she loved and created a lifetime of memories with her children and grandchildren. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, playing games, visiting the boardwalk and arcades, and watching them grow.

Patricia had a personality all her own. She loved bingo, cards, games, shopping, and a good bargain. She had a particular appreciation for anything that was free. Whether it was a giveaway at Lowe’s, Home Depot, or somewhere else, Patricia was likely to be standing in line to get one. And if she found something she liked, one was rarely enough—she preferred to have two of everything.

Those who knew Patricia will remember her for her strong will, determination, kindness, and unmistakable can-do attitude. She approached life with persistence and rarely complained, regardless of the circumstances she faced.

Even during the most difficult chapter of her life, Patricia remained determined. When asked how she was doing, her answer was almost always “Great.” She believed she could overcome whatever was put in front of her and continued to insist, “I’m not giving up. I’m going to beat this.”

That determination was simply part of who she was.

Patricia’s greatest legacy will be the love she gave her family and the countless memories she leaves behind. Her children and grandchildren will carry forward the lessons she taught through the way she lived—her resilience, her sense of humor, her generosity, and her refusal to give up.

She will be remembered in the laughter shared around a card table, the excitement of bingo, the hunt for a bargain, trips to the boardwalk, and all of the ordinary moments that become precious memories after someone is gone.

Patricia lived a life filled with family, laughter, determination, and love.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She leaves behind her beloved fur kids, Pebbles and Bella, who brought her so much joy."

In lieu of services

The family has chosen to honor Patricia’s memory privately, and no public funeral or memorial service will be held.

Those wishing to remember Patricia are invited to make a donation in her memory to Kindness Over Muscular Dystrophy, an organization dedicated to supporting individuals and families affected by muscular dystrophy.
