

Michael was born in Yonkers, New York, to Patrick and Elizabeth Brady and was raised in Thornwood, New York. He carried with him throughout his life the values of faith, integrity, hard work, and service to others.
Michael dedicated his professional life to public service. He began his career working for several municipalities in New York before joining the New York State Power Authority, where he ultimately retired as Treasurer. Throughout his career, he earned the respect of colleagues through his professionalism, leadership, and unwavering commitment to excellence.
On July 8, 1972, Michael married the love of his life, Catherine Ann Yerks. Together they shared more than 54 years of marriage, building a life centered on faith, family, and love. They raised two sons who were the pride of his life.
Michael is survived by his beloved wife, Catherine Ann Brady; his sons, Michael Brady and his wife, Ashley, and Steven Brady and his wife, Joanne. He was a proud grandfather to Kaleb, Ashlyn, Christine, and Victoria, whose lives brought him endless joy.
He is also survived by his brothers, Patrick Brady and Brian Brady. He was preceded in death by his parents, Patrick and Elizabeth Brady, and his brother, Thomas Brady.
Michael’s faith was the cornerstone of his life. He devoted countless hours to serving his parish and community through the Knights of Columbus. He was a member and Past Chancellor of St. John Knights of Columbus Council #11281, where he also served as Retention Committee Chair. He was a Sir Knight and former Purser of Arthur J. Corr Assembly #3308, a proud member of the Knights of Columbus Color Corps, served as A.J. Corr Assembly Independence Celebration Chairman, was a former Wheelchair Program Coordinator, and faithfully served as the Avow Hospice Coordinator for the Knights of Columbus. His dedication to charitable works, veterans, hospice care, and helping those in need reflected the compassion and generosity that defined his life.
Michael will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, loyal brother, faithful Catholic, and trusted friend. His quiet strength, gentle spirit, unwavering integrity, and willingness to serve others left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Whether through his professional accomplishments, his volunteer service, or the love he showed his family, Michael lived a life of purpose and compassion.
Although our hearts are filled with sorrow, we are deeply grateful for the gift of his life and the example he set. His legacy of faith, service, kindness, and love will continue to inspire his family and all who were blessed to know him.
