Born on December 7, 1943, in New Haven, Connecticut, George grew up in West Haven, graduating from Notre Dame High School (West Haven) before earning his degree from the University of New Haven. George went on to dedicate thirty years of public service to the Internal Revenue Service.
He raised his family in Hamden, Connecticut, before enjoying his well-earned retirement in Naples.
An avid sports fan, George was a passionate supporter of UConn basketball and, much to his children’s dismay, a loyal fan of the Boston Red Sox. Above all, George’s greatest pride was his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen (Iacchini); his daughter, Courtney Sacchetti, and her husband, Joe; his son, George Evans, and his wife, Kayla; and his cherished grandchildren, Taylor and Kyler Evans, who brought immense joy to his life.
A celebration of George’s life will be held by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Connecticut Humane Society.
