He was born on September 17, 1953, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Dan is survived by his beloved daughter, Madeline McAdams, who was the light of his life. He also leaves behind his sister, Christina Blair (Robert), and brother, David McAdams (Sheila).
Dan's academic interest began at Williamsburg High School, where he graduated as a salutatorian in 1971. He continued his education at the University of Notre Dame, graduating in 1975 with a BBA in finance and lifelong friendships. Furthermore, Dan obtained his MBA from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business in 1977. His daughter Madeline followed in his footsteps as a 2022 Michigan alumnus, an achievement Dan was most proud of.
Dan embodied what it means to work hard for others and prioritized taking care of his family, a skill he learned from his most significant influence, his father, Daniel Walter McAdams Senior. Dan was an exceptional giver and provider to those he loved.
In addition to his professional work as a long-time healthcare executive, Dan enjoyed spending his days fishing, golfing, cheering on the Fighting Irish in football, cooking, and being a generous host over the years. Dan was a man who loved to live life to the fullest. He had a deep love for adventure and a passion for travel. His career took him to various destinations, and he embraced each new opportunity with enthusiasm. His favorite places included the vibrant French Quarter of New Orleans, the bustling streets of London, and the mountainous outskirts of Nashville. Dan sincerely appreciated music, particularly enjoying Bruce Springsteen, The Who, or whatever tune his daughter would play for him on her violin. One of Dan's fondest music memories was attending Springsteen's 1982 Wembley Stadium concert in London.
We remember Dan not only for his remarkable achievements, but for the warmth and kindness he shared with everyone around him. Dan's legacy will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. As we say goodbye, let us celebrate a life well-lived, cherishing the memories, laughter, and love that will forever remain a part of us. Rest in peace.
