Robert L Levy
January 26, 1938 – January 31, 2023
Robert L. Levy was born January 26, 1938 in New York City and died of natural causes January 31, 2023 in Boca Raton, Florida at the age of 85.
Bob is survived by his wife Ellen Faith Sachs Levy, daughter Deborah Sachs Levy Sloan of Atlanta, Georgia (husband Reuben Sloan), son Andrew David Levy (wife Rebecca Elman) of Boca Raton, Florida, his grandchildren Sydney Hannah Levy and Nathaniel Scott Levy, and Reuben’s daughter Lauren Nicole Sloan.
A service honoring Bob’s life will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023 at 11:00am at Temple Beth El, 333 SW 4th Avenue, Boca Raton, Florida 33432.
Bob was born in New York City to Edith Rau Levy and Leon Ralph Levy (both deceased). His childhood was predominantly spent in Norwalk, CT. After college at University of Pennsylvania and some graduate studies at New York University, he settled in New York City and then returned to Norwalk, CT upon marrying the love of his life, Ellen. They raised their children in Trumbull and then Easton, CT.
Bob made his career in the Life and Health Insurance Industries and was co-founder and President of TR Paul, Inc. in Newtown, CT, which specialized in executive benefits and wealth preservation. Honors included being a lifetime member of the Top of the Table of the Million Dollar Round Table and being an original member of The Hemisphere Group. While Bob was certainly an accomplished and successful businessman, he was also a highly-skilled bridge player, having achieved Life Master status. In addition to bridge, his leisure time was spent playing tennis and golf. He was even known to give his employees time off just so they could play tennis with him.
Also important to Bob was his volunteer work serving on the Board of Trustees at the Jewish Home for the Elderly in Fairfield, CT (now Jewish Senior Services in Bridgeport, CT). Most important of all was his unending love and devotion to his family. He adored his wife, children, and grandchildren, and he never met a dog he didn’t love, especially his grand dogs.
