July 4, 1936 – October 25, 2026
Jo Anne Sally Crowel, age 90, passed away on October 25, 2026, in Florida.
Born on July 4, 1936, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Jo Anne came into this world on a day meant for celebration - a fitting birthday for a woman with such a spirited personality.
Jo Anne was a wonderful combination of feisty, funny, fiercely independent, and genuinely sweet. She had a quick wit, a mind of her own, and a special way of making people smile. She was kind to everyone she met, and her warmth and humor left lasting impressions on those fortunate enough to know her.
Among her greatest joys were her beloved golden retrievers. Jo Anne had an extraordinary love for her dogs, who were much more than pets—they were cherished members of her family. They brought her endless happiness, companionship, and unconditional love.
Jo Anne was a devoted and loving wife to her beloved husband, Larry Crowel, who preceded her in death. She cherished her family and the special place each of them held in her heart. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Helena Pittard, and son-in-law, Billy Pittard; her granddaughter, Rachel Jordan, and husband, Chris Jordan; her great-grandsons, Sutton and Jackson; and her eagerly awaited third great-grandson, Weston.
Jo Anne lived life on her own terms, with a little sass, plenty of laughter, and a heart full of love. Her independent spirit, wonderful sense of humor, and kindness will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
Whenever Jo Anne and her daughter ended a phone conversation, they never said "goodbye." Instead, they always said two simple words: "See ya."
And so, in keeping with a tradition filled with love and a lifetime of memories, this isn't goodbye.
See ya. ❤️
