

He was a World War II Veteran who fought on Guam and Iwo Jima. He was one of three in his unit who survived IWO. He
served in the Marine Corp. 3rd Division. He was on the 1st Honor Flight that left from Pensacola, FL in 2008.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 28 years, Doris Sullivan and Ruby Blythe, the mother of his children. Parents: Leonard Matthew Sullivan
and Ruby Etta Higginbottom, Brothers: Doc (Dolphus) Moore, Leonard Sullivan, and Floyd Sullivan, and
Sisters: Lula Mae Chandler, Narcy Burtham, and Bessie Lee. He was the last of 20 children.
He is survived by his children: Gloria(Earl) Suiter, Reuben Sullivan, Susan(Phil) Elliott and Barbara and Brian Sargent.
Special Friends: Lee Crowe and the loves of his life puppies Buster and Lulu.
He was Poppa to 8 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and uncle to several nieces and nephews.
He retired from American Bridge, U.S. Steel and the Jeff County Board of Education in the state of Alabama, he settled in Milton with
his wife Doris after retirement. The family would like to say a special thank you to the JR Spears Marine Corp. Leagues for their visits,
prayers, and special treatment they gave our Dad. Thanks to the Floridatown Baptist Church and Pace Community Church for their prayers
and visits, and to the Patriot Guards for their support.
A special thanks to Lee Crowe for all she did for our Daddy. She was a great help and comfort to him.
Pall Bearers will be members of JR Spears Marine Corp League.
Services will be at Floridatown Baptist Church with Brother Joel Hunt presiding. 3851 Diamond Street, Pace, FL 32571. Services will be on Monday, April 25th, 2016.
Family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. with services at 11:30 a.m. Internment will be at Barrancas National Cemetery at 2 p.m.
National Cremation & Burial Society will be handling arrangements.
In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to Floridatown Baptist church, JR Spears Detachment Marine Corp League or the Patriot Guard.
