Obituary of Paula Williams Johnson
Paula Williams Johnson, 84, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2023 in Jay, FL surrounded by loved ones. Paula was born on December 18, 1938 in Mansfield, LA. She graduated from Mansfield High School in 1957. She continued to reside in Mansfield many years before moving to Baton Rouge, LA. Recently she moved to Pensacola, FL to be near family. Paula met the love of her life, Cecil Wayne Johnson, while studying at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA. They were married June 5, 1958. They remained happily married for 59 years. She returned to college and completed her studies with 2 small children, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northwestern State University. She had a long career in nursing and touched many lives in her service. Paula loved to “go” and visited many destinations worldwide with friends and family. Fond memories and many pictures/souvenirs have her from Alaska, Mexico, Italy, Ireland, and many other points in between. Paula and Cecil shared this passion and were at one point “full-time RV’ers” seeing the country. Before her death, Paula confirmed her profession of faith in her Savior, Jesus Christ. She is preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Wayne Johnson; her mother, Kathryn Colvin Williams; her father, Charles Edmond “Rusty” Williams, Sr., and her sister, Judy Williams Tyler. She is survived by her sisters, Patricia Williams Herrmann and Ann Williams Birdwell; her brother, Charles Edmond “Little Rusty” Williams, Jr.; her daughters, Elizabeth “Lisa” Johnson Sisson (Thomas) and Karin Johnson Pardue (Hugh “Butch”); her grandsons, Thomas Fielding Sisson II (Katy), Ryan Matthew Sisson (Caroline), and Brett Raymond Pardue; her granddaughters, Kathryn Elizabeth Sisson, Grace Ann Sisson, and Lauren Elise Pardue; her great-grandchildren, Jubilee Elisabeth, Everett Fielding, Hudson William Sisson, and Vera Grey Sisson; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church in Mansfield, LA on Saturday 3/25/2023 at 10:00 am with inurnment at Mansfield Cemetery immediately after the service. All are invited to lunch in the fellowship hall of First Baptist Church following the service. If desired, friends may make memorial contributions to the Epilepsy Foundation of Louisiana.
