

Ola Ruth Spann, 94, who was known as Mema to many for the last 53 years, born December 11, 1931, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to family.
Ruth dedicated many years of her life as a seamstress at Vanity Fair until her retirement in 1997. She was a hardworking, caring, independent woman. Above all else, Mema loved her family deeply and treasured every moment spent with them.
She was preceded in death by her parents Lincoln and Carrie Padgett; siblings Norma Hopkins, Cumi Cobb, Rupert Padgett, Junior Padgett, Sarah Roberts, and Payton Padgett; niece Mabrine Griswold; nephew Ralph Cobb; and son-in-law Ronnie Blocker.
She is survived by her children Judy Blocker and James Wyrosdick; grandchildren Steven (Sharon) Caraway and Cassie (Billy) Wickline; great grandchildren Kayne Caraway, Cody (Ashley) Beech, Kolton (Kayla) Caraway, and Zachary Wickline; great-great grandson Wesley Caraway; and many nieces and nephews.
She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, quiet strength, and unwavering love for those around her. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at 2 pm at National Cremation and Burial Society located at 5641 Hwy 90, Milton FL. The family will welcome friends beginning at 1 pm. Interment will follow at Elizabeth Chapel Church Cemetery in Chumuckla, FL.
