Kathryn Boone Strickland

Kathryn "Kathy" B. Strickland passed away on March 21, 2024, at the Emerald Coast Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, at the age of 75. She was born on September 29, 1948, in Mobile, Alabama.

A longtime resident of Fort Walton Beach, Kathy moved to the area in the early 1970s and dedicated her career to Central Telephone Company of Florida as a telephone operator, later transitioning to customer service and other roles for Sprint Communications. She retired in the late-1990s after years of hard work and commitment.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Timothy Bryant and Jackie Strickland, Jr., grandson Aaron Bryant, her granddaughter Hailey Neal, five great-grandchildren, and her cousin Linda Connick. She was preceded in death by her father, Boyce Julian Boone, Sr., her mother, Kathryn G. Fuqua, stepfather Thomas Fuqua, and her brother, Boyce Julian Boone, Jr.

A service to honor Kathy's life will be held on April 2, 2024, at 1:30 in the afternoon at Beal Memorial Cemetery in Fort Walton Beach, Florida.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Emerald Coast Nursing and Rehabilitation center in Fort Walton Beach, FL for the many years of attentive care that Kathy received, as well as Covenant Care Hospice for their care and guidance.
