John Fredrick Gregory

From Pensacola, Florida.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of John Fredrick Gregory, a cherished family member, dedicated husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and veteran of the United States Air Force. He left behind a legacy of love, strength, and service.

John Gregory proudly served our country in the United States Air Force, and was honorably discharged after four years of service. Shortly after, he met and married Susan Germida Gregory who he married and loved for over 55 years building a beautiful family and life together.

John Gregory is preceded in death by his parents Gerald and Edna Gregory and sister Florence “Cookie” Gregory. He is survived by his immediate family; wife Susan Gregory, son Christopher Gregory and daughter in-law Lori Gregory, his daughter Elizabeth Greenberg and son-in-law Stuart Greenberg, his son Matthew Gregory and daughter-in-law Gillian Gregory, and son Joseph Gregory and daughter-in-law Norreece Gregory. He is survived by his beautiful grandchildren Chelsea, Kevin, Madeline, Gabriel, Jeremiah and Nathaniel. His older sister Jean Pitser, his brother and sister in-law Jim and Barb Germida, Judi Caliendo and many nieces, nephews, and cousins are also mourning the loss of John.

John Gregory grew up and lived in South Florida for over 50 years. He loved baseball and sports of any kind and through sports taught his children the importance of teamwork and dedication. He worked for Florida Power and Light in many roles for forty years and moved to Sarasota in his retirement. In Sarasota he spent time with his wife riding his motorcycle and using their RV to visit campgrounds around the Nation. Over three years ago, he relocated to Pensacola in the Perdido Key area and enjoyed all the town has to offer.

We will be celebrating his life at Barrancas National Cemetery for his internment on March 8, 2024 at 1:30 in the afternoon. We invite those who knew him to join us in celebrating the man he was and share messages of the lessons he taught us.
