Sergeant Major Jeffrey Allen Brothers Sr. took his last breath on Earth September 7th, 2025 in Pensacola Florida.
He is survived by his loving wife Anita, with whom he raised 3 children (Rhonda, Jenny, and Jeff Jr.), six grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. Jeff was the third of seven children born to Frank and Bessie Brothers in Troy, New York.
He left home at the age of 14 and eventually found his true calling as a soldier in the United States Army. In the army, he served as a Combat Engineer and rose to the rank of Sergeant Major, a title he carried into retirement with pride. Stationed overseas and stateside, he served his country valiantly during war and peacetime in a career that spanned over 24 years. He received many awards and decorations while serving, including a Bronze Star and the Legion of Merit for a career of outstanding service. “Sergeant Major” positively impacted the lives of the many troops that served under him.
To those that knew him best: After many years of “phoning home” Galactica finally returned for him. SGM Jeffrey Brothers Sr. will be missed by family and friends, until that mothership comes back for us all.
