
The family of Gerald William Litynski sadly announces his passing at his home in Crestview, Fl. on March 24, 2026. A Memorial Service will be held at Barrancas National Cemetery at NAS Pensacola at a later date. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to National Cremation and Burial Society of Milton, Fl.
Gerald William Litynski was born in Dearborn, Michigan on May 20, 1946 to his parents Steve Litynski and Jenny Moloko. He attended and graduated from Robichaud High School in 1964 where he was a member of the high school swim team. Mr Litynski served in the United States Navy from 1964 until 1968, where he visited several places in Europe, including London, Naples, Genoa, Barcelona, Helsinki, Copenhagen, Stavanger(Norway) and Cannes(France). He studied computer science at Manatee Junior College in Bradenton, Fl. and at the University of South Florida following his service in the Navy. He was a photographer for Manatee Junior College and for a local newspaper in Bradenton before he served in the United States Air Force. He was a computer supply specialist for ten years and an Air Force historian for the next ten years before retiring in 1993 as a Master Sergeant. He was stationed at McChord Air Force Base, MacDill Air force Base, Azores, Grissom Air Force Base, Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, Eielson Air Force Base and at Yokota Air Force Base in Japan from 1987 until 1993. When he was stationed at Yokota Air Base, He received and outstanding history award from the Air Force and won first prize in an interservice photo contest. When he was stationed at McChord Air Force Base in 1975, he met a Japanese lady in San Francisco and in Los Angeles. He wrote three to four letters to her every week for two years, before getting married at MacDill Air Force Base in 1977; they remained happily married together for nearly 50 years. Mr. Litynski lived in Crestview, where became an avid photographer. He took pictures of trains and weddings; he took pictures for the City of Niceville Fl. and Crestview High School football. He battled sarcoma for the remaining six years of his life. He is survived by his wife Satoko, his son William and his daughter Michiyo and her husband Aaron, his brother Roger and his wife Pat, his sister Mary Ann and her friend Jerry, and a nephew, nieces and grandchildren. Mr. Litynski is preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents and his brother Dr. Michael Litynski.
