Floyd Odon Stanley

Floyd O. Stanley, age 92, of Pace, FL passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025. He was a graduate of Baker High School, Baker, Florida, and Pensacola Junior College. He was a veteran, serving in the United States Air Force.

Floyd was born on October 16, 1932 to Obie and Mary Williams Stanley in Baker, Florida. After high school and serving in the Air Force, Floyd returned to Northwest Florida to make his permanent home. He married Glenda Simpson on January 25, 1958 and they began their life together. Floyd was a Christian and was proud to tell anyone about Jesus.

Floyd was Electrical Planner and Estimator for NAS Whiting Field in Public Works. He was employed from 1968- 2000, when he retired. He owned his own business, Stanley Electric. He was a Master Electrician.

He was a member of Ferris Hill Baptist Church and in later years became an active member of Immanuel Baptist Church. He loved Senior Game Day and looked forward to it each month.

Floyd was preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years, Glenda; his parents, Obie and Mary Stanley. His nine brothers and sisters: Cleo Stanley (Winifred), Roy Stanley (Exie), Alma Sasser (Hugh), Ogie Stanley (Jean), James Stanley (Selma), Opal Wilkerson (Ken), Ruby Stanley (Zerline), Charles Stanley (Lois) and Elizabeth Johnson (Robert), and son-in-law, James Anderson.

He is survived by his loving family; daughters, Donna Stanley Gambrell (Chuck), Delores Stanley Turman (Gregory) and son Gregory Stanley (Kathy). His granddaughters, Christina Anderson Simmons (Scott), Kelly Turman Robbins (Sheldon) and Katie Turman Grissom (William). His great grandchildren: Gretchen, Kyndall and Lauren Simmons, Madison and Maddox Robbins and Taylor, Colton, and Riley Grissom. great, great grandson, Walker Simmons.

The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Victorian Manor for their care and compassion during the past several years. We appreciate their love and the BINGO!

Family and Friends are invited to attend services at National Cremation and Burial Society at 5641 US-90, Milton, FL. On Tuesday, February 11, 2025 with Visitation beginning at 11am and funeral services to follow at Noon. Internment will be immediately following at Barrancas National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, The Shriner’s Children’s Hospital or Immanuel Baptist Church.
