

Donnie Stephens 81 of Baker, Florida died of natural causes on January 6, 2024.
Donnie was born in Crestview, Florida to Samuel and Mattie Stephens. He Graduated from Baker High School in 1960. He married his high school sweetheart in 1962. He worked at Vitro Corporation as an Assistant Range Chief before receiving an associate degree in law enforcement. He left Vitro in 1970 to become a wildlife officer at Lake Okeechobee for the next five years. He then moved the family to North Pensacola where he accepted a public safety officer position at PJC. He left PJC in 1980 to begin a career at Westinghouse where he would retire.
Donnie spent most of his free time hunting and fishing. He planned trips back to Lake Okeechobee every year for his birthday. He enjoyed watching Ridiculousness on MTV and would frequently Stutter attempting to mimic Mel Tillis.
He was preceded in death by Mary L Stephens in 2014.
Donnie was survived by his two sons Donnie "Skip" (Carol) Stephens, and John (Shawn) Stephens. His two granddaughters Candance (Jeremy) Clements, and Mary Meagan Stephens. He is also survived by one brother Ronnie "Poor Boy" Stephens, three sisters Sherry (Haward) Norris, Charline (Jerry) Kimmons, and Betty (Bill) Carrington. Donnie is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
