Carl Jumper was a Professional Industrial Engineer working in the petrochemical and shipbuilding industries in TX, St. Croix, USVI, FL, and AK over a long and successful career of more than 30 years. He was a graduate of Lamar University (Beaumont, TX) and University of Houston (Houston, TX) where he earned his Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 48 years, Dee Blanchard Jumper, his parents, Mary Ruth Chambless Jumper and Julian Carl Jumper and his sister, Jerry Sue Thompson.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Janee’ Jumper Goraum and Steve Goraum of Valparaiso, FL, his son Barry Linn Jumper (Washington), and three grandchildren, Joshua Chance Goraum (Buckhead, GA), Jasmine Alana Goraum (Valparaiso, FL), and Zachary Bryce Goraum (Valparaiso, FL), all of whom he loved unconditionally and with his whole heart.
Carl was a Corporal in the U.S. Army and a veteran of the Korean War where he served his country and was honorably discharged in 1953. He also was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church in Mobile, AL.
Visitation will be Monday, July 23, 2018 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the Wolfe Bayview Funeral Home, 10698 S Greeno Road, Fairhope, AL, 36532. A graveside military service will be held at the Colony Cemetery in Fairhope at noon.
