Brittany Elizabeth Sams

Brittany Elizabeth Powell Sams, age 28, of Destin, FL passed away Monday, November 15th of 2021 at home. Brittany was born August 24, 1993 to Dana “Pat” and Karen Nelson Powell in Quincy, IL. Brittany was married to Victor Sams on July 21st of 2012 in Fort Walton Beach, FL.

Brittany is survived by her parents Pat and Karen Powell of Fort Walton Beach, FL, her sister Lisa Whittaker (Jeff Wilson) of Fort Walton Beach, FL and her brother Dana Powell of Oklahoma. Brittany is survived by her two children, Bryellah Powell and Elyx Dalton. She’s also survived by her fiancé Tanner Dalton of Destin, FL, her uncles Carl Nelson (Judy) of Bettendorf, IA, Bradley Nelson of Hannibal, MO, Michael Powell (Ruthie) of Kirksville, MO and her aunt Karla Sparks (Barry Thomure) of Hannibal, MO, Victor Sams of Fort Walton Beach, FL and three nieces, one nephew and numerous cousins.

Brittany was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Herb and Marie Powell, her maternal grandparents Stanley (Gene) and Mary Nelson, her brother Joseph Gibbons and her brother-in-law Jason Whittater and her daughter Breighlen Sams.

Brittany was a server at Brotula’s in Destin, FL and was an avid reader. She enjoyed hanging out at the beach and spending time with her friends and her children. Brittany was a bright soul and full of life. She had an infectious smile. Brittany touched everyone she ever met. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
