Rosalie Foster, 78, of Austell, Georgia, passed away on June 25, 2026. Born on March 23, 1948, Rosalie was born and raised in the Mornington Crescent area of London, where early on she learned the steady devotion of caring for family—helping to look after her mother, sister, Ekpah Cessay, and only nephew, Clive. That attentive, thoughtful spirit remained a guiding thread throughout her life.
Rosalie built a life marked by both service and courage, bringing diligence and care to every role she undertook. She worked in the medical field as an xray technician, and her path also led her to work in parliament and in a bank—each chapter reflecting a woman who met responsibility with quiet strength and genuine kindness.
A beloved mother and grandmother, Rosalie is survived by her two children, Jason (Kaddija) Toussaint and Tracy Foster; her grandsons, Michael, Brandon, and Javon; her great-grandsons, Nazeer Hamza and Kadeem; and granddaughter on the way, Zenara. To many, she was simply “Mama”—a name spoken with affection and trust, earned through a compassionate way of showing up for others and a readiness to help anyone she could.
Rosalie’s adventurous spirit and curiosity were evident in the things she loved most: music, traveling, history, and studying ancestry. She found meaning in understanding where she came from, and she treasured the opportunity to visit her mother’s childhood home in Scotland. She also enjoyed bingo, embracing the simple joy of shared moments and familiar routines.
In her community, Rosalie’s generosity took practical, steady form. She was active in her 55+ community and volunteered in hosting and coordinating social events, helping create spaces where neighbors could feel welcomed and connected. Her kind-hearted concern extended beyond her immediate surroundings as well—she gathered clothing to send to Gambia, supported local law enforcement efforts, and gave faithfully to charities, with St. Judes Children's Research Hospital holding a special place in her heart.
A celebration of life is to be planned for the near future. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Rosalie’s memory to support St. Judes Children's Research Hospital.
Special thanks to her Parkland Manor Community and Staff for showing Rosalie kindness throughout her stay.
