Richard (Rick) Allen Kleine, a beloved man of God and devoted family man, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, at the age of 77 after a courageous battle with ALS. Born in Los Angeles, Rick was a lifelong Southern Californian until moving to Flowery Branch, Georgia, in 2019.
A proud U.S. Army veteran, Rick served in the Quartermaster Corps, with his service taking him across the country and to Thailand. Rick’s professional life was defined by a legendary "sweat-of-the-brow" work ethic. From planting ivy on Orange County hillsides at 13 to a distinguished 45-year career in safety supply sales, the last 30 years with Airgas where Rick was a respected fixture in his industry with loyal clients worldwide.
At age 42, Rick found his calling in Christ. He served his church with passion as a chaplain, deacon, elder, and gifted member of the choir and praise teams. He was an articulate speaker, a reflective writer, and a man of profound humility and kindness. Rick found joy in hiking, gardening, recycling, kayaking, and travel, but his greatest treasure was his family.
Rick is preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Shirley Kleine. He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Nellie (“Doll”) Kleine; his daughter, Danielle Campellone (Christopher); and his cherished grandchildren: Bailey, Parker, Tristan, and Trinity (Jacob).
