Obituary of Retta "Kay" Katherine (Fitch) Ramer
We remorsefully announce the passing of Retta Katherine(Fitch) Ramer of Leesburg, Florida on November 26, 2022. Retta, was lovingly known to all her friends and family as Kay. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family. Kay was a loving and dedicated mother to a family that included three boys. She was born in Everett, Washington to the late Irving B and Olivia C (Rasmussen) Fitch on August 2, 1937. After graduating, she moved to Fort Riley, Kansas where she met the love of her life, Donald Lee Ramer. Following Don’s retirement from General Motors, they relocated to a small retirement community in Leesburg, Florida. In 1988, they became members of the Molokai Retirement Community. Kay became active in leading Bingo, for twenty-five plus years. In addition, she unofficially welcomed many new residents to the park, was always willing to help with many of the activities and happily made her special BBQ sauce that was a longtime family secret until her passing. Kay enjoyed traveling, reading, riding her bike, talking with her neighbors, playing cards, dominoes and marbles with her friends and family. She won more games than she lost. Kay was preceded in death by her husband Donald Lee Ramer and her brother Bob Fitch of Washington. She is survived by her sons, Ed (Dianne) Ramer, Steve Ramer Sr., and Ron Ramer all of Georgia.
