Patricia Fernandez, 62, passed away on October 3, 2026. Born on November 16, 1963, in Los Angeles, California, Patricia’s life was marked by steadfast faith, quiet wisdom, and a generous devotion to God, family, and community.
Raised as one of four children, Patricia’s family later relocated to Rosemead, California. She graduated from Mark Keppel High School in Alhambra, where she cherished time with friends and animals—and where she met the love of her life, Amado Fernandez, while still in high school. Together, they shared simple joys, including long walks on the beach that reflected the steady companionship that would shape their years ahead.
Patricia carried a true servant’s heart into every role she accepted. For five to six years, she served as a wedding coordinator, known for ensuring each special occasion unfolded flawlessly—an expression of her thoughtful care and calm, supportive presence. Patricia also served for many years at Calvary Chapel Pomona Valley, where her faithful commitment was evident through hospitality, leading Bible study, women’s ministry, and prayer groups. In later years, she was an active member at Hope Crossings Church in Jefferson, Georgia, continuing a life defined by prayer, compassion, and steadfast encouragement of others.
Patricia’s deepest calling was her family. She held dreams of a big family and, through devoted love and perseverance, she built one. She homeschooled her six children, faithfully filling the roles of principal, teacher, and mother. She ensured they had opportunities to grow through extracurricular activities such as dance and music, while always grounding them first and foremost in how to walk in the ways of the Lord. With patience, kindness, and unwavering support, she nurtured their passions and modeled what it means to honor and value family.
Patricia’s love extended tenderly to her grandchildren, for whom she prayed individually and faithfully. She was thoughtful in the time and gifts she gave, offering care that felt personal and intentional—an outward reflection of her giving spirit and the deep compassion that guided her life.
Patricia also cared deeply about the well-being of others, promoting good health and sharing the benefits of essential oils and quality living and eating. She loved community and friendship, keeping an open door to her home and welcoming others with warmth and grace. She volunteered with Choices, a pro-life women’s clinic, offering support to young mothers and helping provide resources for care—another expression of her generous and supportive heart.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Juanita Vega, and her brother, Rene Molinar. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Amado Raul Fernandez; her children, Rudy Fernandez, David Fernandez (Wendy), Alex Fernandez (Brenda), Matthew Fernandez (Ariana), Danielle Rubio (Samuel), and Lukas Fernandez; her grandchildren, Brooklyn, Emma, Levi, Rosie, Amariah, Brielle, and Eliana; her brothers, Jesus Vega Jr. and Manny Vega; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the Emory University medical team for their support during Patricia’s care. They also offer sincere thanks to the friends, family, and churches who lifted Patricia and the family in prayer. Special thanks are given to Tina Meredith, Lisa Cordero, and Kate Whorton, who flew down to personally support Patricia on her journey.
