Noemi Santana Padilla passed away on Monday, April 20, 2026, at the age of 86. Born on March 27, 1940, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, she grew up in Barrio Obrero and graduated from La Escuela Superior Central in San Juan.
In her working years, Noemi served as a secretary for an insurance firm and later as a teacher’s aide. Above all, she took her greatest pride, joy, and happiness in being a stay-at-home mom—devoting herself with steady love and care to her family and home.
Noemi was actively involved in church and mission work, living out her faith through service to others. She traveled to Honduras to minister to orphans, offering compassion and presence where it was needed most.
Noemi was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Dr. Cesar A. Padilla, D.D.
She is survived by her children, Col. Cesar A. Padilla, Army, Retired, and Katherine P. Barrett; her daughter-in-law, Jackie Padilla; her son-in-law, Gary M. Barrett; her grandchildren, Bryan K. Barrett, Brooke Lawrence, Tatiana Flores, and Tiffany Padilla; and her siblings, Julio Santana, Olga Esther Romero, and David Santana.
The family would like to thank the Memory Care Staff at the Claiborne at Newnan Lakes and the Nursing Staff at Brightmoor Hospice for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in her final days.
A Committal Service will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at 11:30 AM at Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Scott Hudgens Drive, Canton, Georgia 30114.
In lieu of flowers, consider making a donation in Noemi’s honor to any local Crisis Pregnancy Center, Food Pantry, or missions offering at your local church.
