A WWII Navy Veteran and a proud member of the graduating class of 1951 from Louisiana State University, Mac carried himself with the steady discipline of a man shaped by duty and strengthened by time. Through the years, his devotion showed most clearly in the life he built around those he loved, and in the quiet perseverance with which he met each season. His hard work and resilience were not spoken of as achievements, but lived as a daily example—consistent, enduring, and deeply felt by those closest to him.
Mac was a loving son, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was preceded by his wife of 72 years, Margaret Mary Lokey Maurin, and his parents, Fortune H. Maurin, Jr. and Leona McHugh Maurin.
He is survived by his six children: David Maurin Jr., Joseph Maurin, John Maurin, Beth Fannon, Mark Maurin, and Susan Lockhart, and their families.
