Mary was born to the Late Eugene Robert Johnston and the late Regina Marie Driscoll Johnston on February 11, 1946. She was born in Maryland as one of three children. Her family relocated to Sarasota, Florida in her adolescence and was raised there.
She moved to Atlanta, GA in the mid 70’s to work as a dental hygienist where she met Lloyd. After 2 years, the couple we happily married. They had two children together, Graeme and Jennifer. Mary loved being a mother –nurturing and care for her children came naturally and she was able to shine in that role.
She was a wonderful seamstress, loved creating stain glass art and had a penchant for collecting natural gemstones. Her love of music also defined her. Mary was also very active in the church for many years and performed in the Bell Choir at St. Anne’s Church in Buckhead, GA . She always loved seeing musicals and operas and passed that love of music to her children. Mary also spent much of her adult life as executive assistant to Lloyd in various business ventures and performed her duties faithfully to him in all aspects of life. Mary’s loyalty and compassion will be greatly missed.
Mary is preceded by her parents, Eugene and Regina Johnston, and her sister Martha Johnston. Her memory will be cherished by her husband of 48 years, Lloyd Adams; son, Graeme Adams and his wife Jenni Adams; daughter, Jennifer Adams; grandchildren, Piper and Willow and Sophia and Chloe; and brother Gene Johnston.
