As a passionate educator, Marc shared his love of history with generations of students at Sandy Springs High School, Crestwood High School, and Chattahoochee High School. After retiring in 1998, his devotion to education remained steadfast as he briefly taught history and geography at AIU. Marc was beloved by his students and faculty alike, maintaining meaningful connections long after his official retirement.
Marc’s generous spirit extended far beyond the classroom. His philanthropy was as remarkable as it was far-reaching, with contributions to organizations advocating for the kind treatment of animals, the advancement of minorities, and ensuring access to essential medical and legal resources. Marc’s love for others was boundless, and his tireless efforts to give back to his community will be remembered as a testament to his character.
He is survived by his loving sister, Nancy Hury, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and numerous cousins, including Marsha, as well as a multitude of friends who cherished him dearly. Among those closest to his heart was his chosen son, Danladi Duncan, who shared a deep and enduring bond with Marc.
