Vaughan, Gill and Ed

Though I didn’t know Louise well, she was one of very few Merlyn’s and my memories are of a very loving, friendly cousin. 

I particularly recall her kindness and sense of fun during a stay in Atlanta during my student summer break. 

 I send my condolences to Vaughan, Gill, Ed and all who were lucky enough to have known and loved Louise.

Great memories of hanging out with Louise in the 90s in south London pubs, bright and bubbly young women, great fun.

I remember meeting her when she was just a young girl, and even then it was clear how bright and special she was. She had a curiosity and spark that she brought with her to far flung and interesting places and situations, from Prague and Berlin to the Japanese consulate. I always admired her adventurous spirit and the way she engaged so genuinely with the world and the people around her.

What also stands out is the deep, loving bond she shared with her family, and the kindness and compassion that guided her beliefs and how she lived her life. She made a lasting impression on me, and I feel grateful to have known her. My heart goes out to all who loved her.

Dear Ed, Vaughan and Gillian
Though divided by an ocean, we are with you in spirit at this most painful time.
Sadly, our memories of Louise are all too few, but we do have very happy memories of her visits to us in Swansea, Wales, UK. We recall a beautiful, vivacious, friendly young woman studying Art History at the Courtaulds Institute in London.
We also have memories of enjoying a superb Japanese meal in Atlanta with the wider family, where Louise stole the show with her vibrant personality and bowler hat.
The above photograph was taken in Santa Fe, NM at Paul's wedding.
Perhaps most memorable, though, were our many Christmas Day Zoom calls with the combined forces of Louise & Ed and Vaughan & Gill. We could almost smell the dinner being cooked by Ed!
Although we would, of course, have wished for a longer and healthier life for Louise, we do know that she had wonderful parents and a loving husband.
We send our condolences and love to all three of you.

Louise and Ed at an Atlanta United soccer (football) game!  Ed taught the AU crowd all the British Soccer Songs and moves, such as The Wave.

Louise was my very own weezypedia, especially on pop culture, food, art, and more importantly the reasons behind art, the socio-economic reasons why some art was made,  and of course she introduced me to Buffalo Wings. I had no idea. We had just recently met and were enjoying an early evening beverage at a bar in Brooklyn. Louise ordered Buffalo Wings and I a veggie burger. I was expecting a plate with half a Buffalo on it for Louise. As a vegetarian I was immensely happy that the ensuing meal did not come out like a side of dinosaur from the Flintstone's, but was much smaller, and smelled incredible, yeah, my veggie days soon ended after t
hat.
