Lonnie Gene Abrams

Lonnie’s early years were shaped by a childhood spent on the move, as his mother and step-father worked as right of way agents and traveled across the United States with their five children. As the middle child of five, Lonnie learned early how to hold his own, and those who knew him best will remember the quick wit and easy humor that seemed to follow him wherever he went. He is survived by his siblings: Diane and Dixie.

Throughout his life, Lonnie had a gift for turning everyday moments into something worth repeating. A natural storyteller and familiar jokester—often affectionately regarded as the “Funny Man”—he brought levity and warmth to conversations, gatherings, and quiet days alike, leaving people with laughter that lingered long after the story ended.

Lonnie shared his life with his significant other, Marlys Kathryn Cartledge. He was formerly married to Deborah “Deb” Abrams. He was a proud father to his daughter, Savannah Abrams, and a grandfather to one grandchild.

An avid outdoorsman, Lonnie found deep enjoyment in hunting and fishing, drawn to the steady patience of the water and the open air of the outdoors. He also maintained a connection to faith and community through Daybreak Church in Little Falls, MN.

Lonnie will be remembered with respect and affection—for his sharp humor, his spirited storytelling, and the steady way he made room for laughter in the lives of others.
