Joyce Wilson, 87, was born on August 12, 1938, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, and passed away on April 1, 2026. Joyce was faithful, kind-hearted, loyal, and resilient throughout her life, leaving a legacy of steady devotion and love for others. She resided in Dalton, Georgia.
Born and raised in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, Joyce was the youngest of two girls and was very curious as a child. She graduated from Hattiesburg High School and attended Mississippi Southern College.
Before dedicating her life to Jehovah, Joyce became an entertainer specializing in Blues. She later devoted herself wholeheartedly to sacred service, walking in her faith for almost 3 years beginning with her baptism in 1966 and serving as a pioneer until serving as a zealous special pioneer for 59 years. Joyce taught the Bible through many studies that helped others toward dedication, participated in Metro-witnessing, and served in many congregations throughout the entire United States. She was also part of the Jehovah Witnesses Bethel Headquarters (full time servants of the Bethel family).
Joyce’s mother, Inez, was her partner in ministry, and Inez’s legacy laid way to inspiring Joyce. Joyce remained dedicated to the faith regardless of inclement weather. Since 2002, Joyce’s sister, Gloria June, lived together with her and Joyce's nephew, Victor, to support one another in the faith.
Joyce loved to sing and was deeply interested in providing people with accurate Bible information because she loved others. She had a passion for caring for cats along with her daughter Melanie, especially "Tom."
Joyce was preceded in death by Mother, Inez Pool; Father, Jack Wilson; and Nephew, David Vance.
Joyce is survived by Daughter, Melanie Vance; Sister, Gloria June Reyes; Nephew, Victor Vance (Jan); Niece by marriage, Stephanie Vance; and Great-Nephews and Great Nieces: Jeremy Vance, Jason Vance, Kendra Geller, Valerie Ellis and their children.
Special thanks to Joyce’s niece by marriage, Jan Vance, for being a loving, doting caregiver who ensured that Joyce never went without. Also, special thanks to Annelen Juliani & Becky Morris, who remained very dear friends and supported Joyce throughout her life and ministry walking in her faith for 60 years beginning with her baptism in 1966 and worked alongside family, partners: Annelen Juliani; Becky Morris; Kevin & Tammy Niblet; Jasmine Alvarado as well as her earth wide brotherhood.
