John "Clay" Stedman, IV, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at the age of 79, in Atlanta, Georgia. He was born August 30, 1944, in Carlisle, England, to Geraldine "Gerry" (Montgomery) Stedman and John Clay "Ian" Stedman, III. Clay proudly served his country and the United States Air Force in the Aircraft Maintenance Squadron. He worked in IT for various trucking and airline companies before retiring in Phoenix, Arizona. Clay was a champion poker player, skilled Scrabble player, unsuspecting prankster, and a Wheel of Fortune contestant/winner. His dog, Ginger, was always lovingly by his side.
Clay was preceded in death by his parents and sister Janne. Clay is lovingly remembered by his children, Cindy (Tommy) Birdsong and Johnny (Margaret) Stedman, his grandchildren, Bailey, Clay, Vane, Decker, and Barton, his siblings Carol, Suzanne and Alan, dear friends and other loving relatives.
