Raised in Davenport, Jeffry attended Davenport West High School, where he was known for being very social and surrounded by many friends. From an early age, he showed a steady work ethic and a willingness to do what needed doing—beginning with a first job on a paper route, followed by work at a local car wash, and later at a local foundry close to home. He also served in the US Army National Guard, reflecting a quiet sense of duty and commitment to others.
In 1987, in his 20’s, he relocated to Georgia from Davenport, IA, carrying with him the same determination and readiness for new horizons that shaped his life. He worked in the construction industry while making close friends that became his Georgia family.
Jeffry’s adventurous spirit found a natural home in the world of racing. He enjoyed Nascar, motor sports, and karting—interests that spoke to his love of motion, competition, and the open possibility of the next turn ahead.
Jeffry is survived by siblings: Karen Lynch (Michael), Mike Rasmussen, Robert Rasmussen, Thomas Rasmussen (Becky), Susan Krumdieck (Gary), and Mark Rasmussen (Lori). He is also survived by nieces Erin & Anne, Jenna, Katlin, Krista & Alyssa & Melaney; nephews Dennis, Ryan & Andrew, Ronald & Marcus; many other extended family members; and his Georgia family: Carol, Lynn, and Wade Barrentine.
Jeffry was preceded in death by parents, Robert and Fern Rasmussen; sister, Janice Rasmussen Hutchens (Tim); brother, Chris Rasmussen; and sister in law, Bonnie Rasmussen.
A private vigil will be planned for the future.
