James proudly served as a U.S. Navy Veteran during Vietnam, working with military explosive devices. Following his military service, he worked various jobs including with the Sheriff's Office and LensCrafters. He also dedicated 11 years to the USDA as a food inspector, where he did a great job.
James graduated from the American Academy School in Florida. Reserved to some, James was most content enjoying the comforts of home. In private, he was jovial, with a good sense of humor, and he especially loved singing “The Love Boat” songs to his wife, Domenica. They also enjoyed sharing movies together.
James was a devoted model builder and took particular joy in creations inspired by Battlestar Galactica and Star Wars.
James was married nearly 27 years to his wife, Domenica Roby. He is also survived by his stepdaughter, Angela Smith (Tracy); stepson, Cory Jones; grandchild, Zander Smith; sisters in law, Jewel Walker and Elizabeth Logan; and nephews, Eli Logan and Matthew White.
The family extends sincere appreciation to I Serve Ministries and Crossroads Church for their support and prayers.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in James' memory to your local ASPCA or animal shelter.
