Donna Mae Pierce, 84, passed away September 1, 2026. Born September 8, 1941, Donna was born and raised in Richmond, VA, the oldest of four children, and carried that steady, capable spirit with her through every season of life.
Donna’s life was shaped by devotion and perseverance, and by a love that began in the most tender way—she met the love of her life, Hal Pierce, through her grandmother. Together they built a marriage of 66 years, marked by steadfast loyalty and the quiet strength that endures through change. When Mr. Pierce’s work with IBM took them to Boca Raton, FL, Donna embraced the move with the same resilient grace that defined her, creating a home wherever they landed and keeping family at the center of it all.
Donna and Hal welcomed a son, Brian Pierce, and Donna’s love as a mother was both constant and wise—she gave Brian the space to learn life lessons, offering support without taking away the dignity of growing into one’s own.
Known for always having a smile, Donna brought warmth into every room and made connection feel easy. She loved singing and lifted her voice in the church choir, a joyful expression of faith and community. She was a member of Sandy Springs Christian Church (Sandy Springs, GA) and Celebration (Hoschton, GA), places where her steady presence and welcoming spirit were felt and appreciated. Social by nature and genuinely interested in people, Donna visited others, became friends with neighbors wherever she lived, and truly never met a stranger.
Donna is survived by her husband of 66 years, Harold "Hal" Dean Pierce; her son, Brian Pierce and his wife, Denise; her grandchildren, Jacob, Aiden, and Henry; 2 half-brothers; and 1 half-sister.
Services will be planned for the near future.
