Dianne Sleigh Aikey, 91, of Lawrenceville, GA, formerly of Punta Gorda, FL, and Johnstown, PA, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2026. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Robert Aikey; sister, Phyllis (Sleigh) Ripple; and parents, James & Maxine (Hamilton) Sleigh of Export, PA.
Dianne is survived by her two daughters, Beth Aikey of Johnstown, PA, and Dawn (Greg) Cordell of Lawrenceville, GA; and granddaughters Chloe & Cassidy Cordell. She is also survived by her brother James (Laynn) Sleigh of San Jose, CA, brother Robert Sleigh of Export, PA, and sister Deborah (Gary) Robertson of Delmont, PA.
After graduating from Indiana State Teachers College (now Indiana University of Pennsylvania) in 1957, Dianne taught in the Richland School District until she stayed home to raise her daughters. Later, she returned to the classroom at Cambria Rowe Business College, followed by serving as the school’s placement director until her retirement in 1993. She found great joy in spending time with family, playing card and board games, creating handmade greeting cards, designing jewelry, reading literature, and instructing water aerobics at her Florida retirement community, Burnt Store Colony.
