Born December 19th, 1940, in Oceanside, NY, Kay had lived in North Georgia over 50 years. She was a strong woman who worked many jobs, notably assuming the role of management for convenience stores. She was unmatched in fashion accessories. She had a love for gem stones, jewelry, shopping, video games, sweets, animals, and most importantly, her family, for whom she made up the best nicknames.
Her true legacy is left behind in the love and accomplishments of the sprawling family she ushered in - through reflections of her toughness, beauty, love of nature, and appreciation of jokes. It is through them that her humor, good will, and feistiness will live on for generations.
She is survived by her children, Lisa Forthun Lawson and husband Swain Lawson, Kenneth Forthun, Billy Williams, and Steven Forthun and wife Cheryl; by her grandchildren Kenneth Forthun, Jr. and daughter Beyla Forthun, Corey and Courtney Sullivan and children Dainton Byrd, Gunderson Sullivan, and Else May Sullivan, Erin and Justin Mlynarski, Kyle Eber, Christina Eber and children Abby, Kjell, Dennis, and Devin Eber, Ciara Forthun and daughter Iyla, Dustin Forthun and children, and Crystal Maresca and children; dear friend Pam Carder Barton and grandson Isaac; and her loyal hound, Buddy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Catherine Marietta Schlatterer and Edwin Arnold Gunderson; her husband, Allen Adams; her daughter, Karen May Eber; and her great grandson, Nolan Mlynarski.
