Carolyn Sue Grant

Carolyn was born in Hastings, Nebraska December 8, 1942 but grew up in Elyria, Ohio where she met and married the love of her life William Kinell Grant who preceded her in death in April, 2022 after nearly 60 years of marriage. She graduated from Elyria High School in 1961 and attended Ohio State University.

Throughout her life Carolyn gave of herself to her family and the community, serving as a Girl Scout leader, Sunday School teacher, and a dedicated Hockey Mom but she will be most remembered for providing a warm and welcoming home for her family and for all who entered her life. Her hostess skills were unsurpassed. She made everyone feel comfortable and enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends. All who knew her recognized her kindness and generosity. She never missed sending a birthday card or thank you note!

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband Bill, her parents Andrew and Mildred Johnston and brother Ronald.

Her survivors include her children Julia of Savannah GA, Deborah (James) Erickson of Ann Arbor MI, William (Sue) Grant Jr of Lafayette CO, Cherolyn (Matt) Cole of Pittsford NY, adopted daughter Ania (Darin) Aldrich of Cherry Hills Village, CO, 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and sister Joann of Clearwater.

The family will hold a private Memorial Service. In lieu of flowers the family suggests those who wish may make donations to The American Lung Association or the charity of your choice.
