She is preceded in death by her parents Paul and Ann Bufano.
She is survived by her husband (Thomas Barber), her five children (Mary Ann Theriault, Nancy Barber, Michael Barber, Charles Barber, Lynn Messier), her six grandchildren (Chad Driggers, Tiffany Driggers, Nicholas Messier, Krista Messier, Brandon Theriault, Faith Messier), and her four great-grandchildren (Riley Messier, Avery Messier, Aubrey Messier, Skyler Driggers).
Modesta will be dearly missed by her friends, neighbors, and family. Modesta and Thomas Barber got married in 1957 and recently celebrated 65 years of marriage. Modesta spent the first 41 years of her life living in New York before moving to live in south Florida with her husband and children. Modesta raised her five children and also helped care for her mother for several years. She always enjoyed a cup of coffee in the morning and spending time outside talking with family. Though quite at times, Modesta was never lacking of a good idea or a witty joke. Her kindness was evident by the enormous compassion she showed in her actions and the ample support she showed for her family. It is with heavy hearts that we celebrate the life of Modesta Ann Barber.
The family would like to thank Trustbridge for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in her final days.
Family and friends are invited to attend a ceremony in memory of Modesta at Palm Beach National Chapel (10055 Heritage Farms Rd. Lake Worth, FL 33449) on September 8th, 2022 at 3:00p.m. Visitation with the family will begin at 2:45p.m.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.nationalcremation.com/location/north-palm-beach for the Barber family.
